What is Claude Cowork?
Claude Cowork (formerly Claude Desktop) is Anthropic's desktop application for Claude. It's designed for workflows, conversations, and project-level tasks, running natively on macOS and Windows.
With the AgentPowers extension, you can search, purchase, and install AI skills directly from your Claude Cowork conversations. No terminal required.
Installing the extension
The setup takes about 30 seconds:
- Go to the Claude Cowork Extension page
- Download the
.mcpbextension file - Drag it into Claude Cowork (or double-click it)
- Click Install
That's it. No terminal commands, no Node.js, no configuration files. The extension includes 26 marketplace tools that connect Claude Cowork to the entire AgentPowers marketplace.
Using skills in Claude Cowork
After installing the extension, just talk to Claude naturally:
"Search AgentPowers for productivity skills"
"Install the prompt-improver skill"
"What skills do I have installed?"
Claude handles the search, installation, and checkout flow entirely within the conversation. For paid skills, a Stripe checkout opens in your browser, then the skill installs automatically.
Skills installed in Claude Cowork also work in Claude Code and other MCP-compatible tools. Buy once, use everywhere.

Claude Cowork vs Claude Code
Both support AgentPowers skills, but they're designed for different workflows:
- Claude Cowork: Desktop app, visual interface, drag-and-drop extension install. Best for non-developers and conversational workflows.
- Claude Code: Terminal-based, CLI-first. Best for developers who live in the terminal. Setup guide here.
Skills work identically in both. The only difference is how you interact with Claude.
